About the event
On August 23rd and 24th, 2025, you won't find the VUB in Brussels... but right in the heart of Mechelen ! During Maanrock, Flanders' largest free city festival, we'll once again be taking over the liberal community center De Schakel and transforming it into a vibrant VUB pop-up bar.
Students, alumni, staff, and supporters from the wider Mechelen region: come join us for a friendly chat, a refreshing beer, and a hearty dose of VUB atmosphere! Doors are open from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM both days.
This pop-up is a collaboration between VUB, OSB-Mechelen, HV Mechelen, VSKM, and other liberal Mechelen organizations. Together, we're showcasing the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) during one of the city's busiest weekends.
