About the event

We humans often and much err. How come? Not only do our senses deceive us more than much, but when we use our mind we also make quite a few mistakes. The lecture will therefore discuss optical illusions – how misleading are our eyes? – but also the ear – it is less well known that our ears can also deceive us – and finally the so-called cognitive illusions where our ability to think clearly and correctly is severely tested. The explanation, as I will argue, can be found in our evolutionary history
