About the event

In a family with young children there is often a pleasant bustle. It is a series of big and small milestones that we would not want to miss for anything.

And yet… young family life is not only a unique experience but also a source of stress. And we all have to deal with that at some point.

Because children behave unpredictably. And as a parent you often have little control over situations. Each of these is not insurmountable, but added together they can lead to a chronic feeling of stress.

During the lecture, professor and stress expert Marie-Anne Vanderhasselt explains how stress creeps into our family life. What happens in our brain when it is under tension? Why is it so important to take care of yourself as a parent, or even first and foremost? Using examples from daily life, she translates the theory into recognizable situations. And in this way, she provides tools for parents under high tension.

As a researcher and mother of three young children, Marie-Anne Vanderhasselt knows what it is like to juggle many plates at once. The stress she is doing so much research on, she also feels within her family.

She now shares the insights of fifteen years of research with other parents of young children. Are you (still) not experiencing any problems in your family as a parent? Then you are also welcome and will receive useful tools regarding parenting. After all, it is about everyday life, our behavior and our emotions in parenting.
